Luca D'Alberto
Luca D’Alberto is an acclaimed composer, producer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist. Graduating with honors and a ministerial mention in viola and violin, he furthered his education at prestigious international academies.
Building on a solid classical foundation, he seamlessly integrates electronic instrumentation to amplify the expressive power of acoustic instruments such as the piano and strings. Endowed with an empathetic and dynamic personality, Luca naturally gravitates towards networking and high profile projects. His talent was recognized and appreciated from his very early international debuts by esteemed directors, dance companies and world renowned brands.
Among those who have expressed great esteem and appreciation for his work are visionary figures such as Wim and Donata Wenders, Bob Wilson, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac and Peter Lindbergh, alongside significant partnerships with institutions like the Danish film production company Zentropa Entertainments, founded and directed by Lars Von Trier.
With over 50 million streams on Spotify, his works rank among the most followed in the Modern Classical and Cinematic music scenes.
He has collaborated as a composer and performer with prestigious institutions such as the Tanztheater Wuppertal “Pina Bausch,” Italian directors Michele Placido, Costanza Quatriglio, and Daniele Vicari, as well as international directors Peter Greenaway and Saskia Boddeke. For the latter, he composed the music for globally exhibited art installations, including “Obedience” at the Jewish Museum in Berlin and “Chtchoukine, Matisse, la Danse et la Musique” at the Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris.
D’Alberto has also scored some of the most iconic advertising campaigns of recent years for world famous brands such as Apple, Lancôme, ROLEX, Ragno, National Lottery UK, Scottish Widows, and Wimbledon, which chose his music as the official anthem for the 2017 tournament. His compositions have additionally been featured in productions for CBS, RAI, Netflix, Amazon, and Vice, spanning soundtracks, TV series, and trailers.
In 2024, Luca D’Alberto signed with UNIVERSAL / Decca Records, marking the collaboration with the release of his album In Our Hearts, which features exceptional international guests: Tom Smith, founder and frontman of Editors, and French singer-songwriter and actress Soko.
He scored the feature film written and directed by Peter Greenaway, titled Lucca Mortis, featuring an all star cast including Academy Award winners Dustin Hoffman and Helen Hunt, alongside Sofia Boutella. For this soundtrack, Maestro D’Alberto also wrote a song performed by renowned Italian singer ELISA.
Furthermore, he is composing the soundtrack for Bianco (an Italian-French-Belgian co-production directed by Daniele Vicari, starring Alessandro Borghi), the score for Sul cammino di Francesco (a Rai-Anele co production directed by Costanza Quatriglio), and the soundtrack for Io non ti lascio solo (directed by Fabrizio Cattani, starring Giorgio Pasotti).
On December 1, 2024, the Regional Council of Abruzzo conferred upon Luca D’Alberto the title of Ambassador of Abruzzo in the World.
Since 2026, Luca D’Alberto serves as Artist and CEO of Gate23, an independent record label based in Dublin, which he runs alongside his close collaborator Marco Giannantonio.
